84% students show self-management skills, but parents put academics first: Study
A social experiment conducted by Glendale International School in Hyderabad reveals a growing emphasis on behavioural learning alongside academics. Across Grades 1 to 9, 84% of students demonstrated self-management, while others showed strong initiative, collaboration, and planning skills. However, a perception gap emerged—parents focused on academic outcomes, whereas students highlighted life skills like responsibility and listening. The findings suggest that behavioural competencies are becoming integral to classroom learning, even if they remain under-recognised in traditional evaluation systems.
